This post is a repeat from May 21, 2007, "Our final day in Guatemala!!" It absolutely amazes me that Savannah has been with us for over a year now (Gotcha Day was May 17, 2007 and our true Forever Family Day was May 22, 2007 when we were united as a family of 4 in the US)!
Well, tomorrow morning, we are heading home with our beautiful little girl, Savannah!! We are so excited to finally be a family and cannot wait to be reunited with our daughter, Mackenzie!! This has been a truly amazing trip and everything has gone so smoothly for us. We have had a wonderful time exploring Savannah's birth country of Guatemala and we are so thankful that we had a chance to immerse ourselves in the culture and to gain a better understanding of where she comes from. We love Guatemala and we hope to be back here again one day soon! Our next post will be from home!!! Thank you Jesus for this amazing miracle and for giving us our gorgeous daughter in your perfect timing!! It truly is perfect!
Here is the picture that accompanied my post 1 year ago...Savannah has changed so much since then!! She is such a blessing to our family and we are so thankful to have shared this past year with her and cannot wait for the many years to come!! She's an absolutely gorgeous girl, both inside & out!
These last few pictures were also taken on our final day in Guatemala, as we were waiting for Savannah's visa packet to be delivered to us...it came about an hour late, so we were a little worried at the time, but obviously it did come and we were able to make our flight home the next day! I LOVE the first 2 pictures below, obviously the first one is on the title page of our blog and the second shows daddy trying to teach Savannah to walk! For those of you that don't know, Savannah was not even crawling yet when she came home...she could sit up and sort of roll over, but that was all. Daddy was trying to motivate her to skip the whole crawling thing and go straight to walking! It was adorable! (And, yes, Savannah was pinching me quite hard in the one picture...she had a real pinching problem when she first came home, but thankfully we worked through that pretty quickly by teaching her to be gentle. I had to include that picture though because it shows a little bit of her more mischevious side!!)

Congratulations on one year. Time flys by. I hope your Forever Family Day is wonderful.
Madi had a scratching problem when she first came home. Mike and I looked like a cat had gotten a hold of us for awhile.
